Let’s get to work…
Through endurance sports, we can train our bodies, minds, and hearts to become a more fulfilling and beautiful version of ourselves, but it’s not easy. Endurance means keeping going when you want to stop, yet stopping is getting in the way of growth. So… let’s get to work.

Philosophy
“Everyone wants to be successful. To win. I hope it’s me. But I want to do more than just win. I want you to take part in it. I want to compare faith to success or winning the race. It’s hard, requires concentration of will, energy of soul. You experience elation when you see results — ‘specially if you’ve got bet in it. But how long does that last? You go home. Maybe your dinner’s burnt. Maybe... you lose your job. So who am I to say, “believe,” “have faith,” in the face of life’s realities? I would like to give you something more permanent, but I can only point the way. I have no set formula for winning. Everyone runs in her own way, or his own way. But where does the power come from to see the race to its end? From within. Jesus said, ”Behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” ”If, with all your hearts you truly seek Me, you shall ever surely find Me” — if you commit yourself to the love of Christ, THAT is how you run the race.”
To succeed on race day, endurance athletes need to be physiologically ready to meet their race’s energy, skill, and force output requirements. I use a tested methodology that maximizes the ability of the athlete to improve their physiological, mechanical, and mental state while preparing them to withstand the enormous strain their body will experience. They must be ready to propel themselves efficiently and handle the stress of race day in order to perform.
Some of the top strategies I see working for athletes: Linear progressive overload, proper recovery, goal setting, frequent testing and great communication. Every athlete is different, but these, mixed with an athlete’s ability to focus, dedicate, and have a playful spirit, make for a lot of fun.
A couple of philosophical phrases I like:
The separation is in the preparation.
If you want to be someone you have never been, you have to do something you have never done.
Exercise terminates when the feelings of discomfort overwhelm the potential rewards.
We race not so much to beat one another but to help each other be our best.

Preston Williams
Luke is an exceptional endurance coach who played a critical role in helping me complete a 26-mile prone paddle event—the first of its kind in Walton County, FL, created by fellow ocean lifeguards. With no established training plans for this unique challenge, he worked with me to create a custom plan, guiding me on mileage, nutrition (self supported w/out aid stations), and training to manage the strain of such an intense effort. Luke fine-tuned my nutrition, dialing in the perfect balance of calories, carbs, and electrolytes for my homemade maple/agave electrolyte drink. His expertise gave me the confidence to tackle this uncharted territory and stay strong through 8 hours and 11 minutes of paddling. Thanks to Luke’s incredible understanding of the science and physiology of exercise, he’s able to take his knowledge and apply it to virtually any type of endurance event.

Being an avid outdoorsman and athlete my whole life, I was glad to have Luke as my coach. I spent the summers in the CO mountains, but he truly was able to help me go from being an everyday runner to an ultra-marathoner. It’s because of him I was able to do exceptionally well in not only my first 100-miler but in one of the hardest in the US. His ability to prepare me for altitude, nutrition, the mental side of long endurance events and of course, my fitness was top tier. Even if you are someone like me, with a background in fitness and climbing, I highly recommend him to get you to the starting line well-prepared and the finish line in great spirits.
